Stony Brook University Hospital EZFluence Case Study

Field-in-field planning for breast radiation therapy is a manual process that involves detailed MLC editing work on multiple subfields and as many calculations to generate a clinically acceptable plan.

In a study investigating the use of EZFluence software for simplifying breast planning, the group at Stony Brook University Hospital showed an impressive reduction in time savings in addition to improving or maintaining hot spot volumes, mean heart and lung dose, and contralateral breast dose.

“EZFluence is a better option when comparing to FiF technique in terms of time required for planning while generating a plan that is comparable in all the dose parameters.”
